I started working in this business part-time pushing a wheelbarrow and raking for an older gentleman who owned a landscape business. This was while I was in high school in the early 80’s. Being involved in projects for different home owners over the years, I have taken on most everything when it comes to this industry. As time has passed I’ve learned the trade and eventually started out on my own. As my knowledge has grown my dedication to my customers has also. I’ve been there when the other contractor has either done a poor job or just left with the money. Leaving me either looking bad for referring him or having to finish his job to keep the customer happy, that is why I try to be a full range landscape company.  I know what it takes to do the job right and I know my quality of work.

  As I have grown in this business I have watched others around me and how they have structured themselves. Some have borrowed money and leveraged themselves as far as possible, while others have left the business. While others have taken on such a high volume of work that it would be impossible to have consistent quality product on every job. I have learned lessons from each of the above examples and have developed a philosophy over time that I believe my customers will benefit from most of all.

  First, I don't aspire to be the largest irrigation and landscaping company in Georgia. I am a perfectionist, I'm in someones yard everyday if there is a detail thats not right I'll catch it and correct it. I have to know that the work produced by us at Southern Lawn Irrigation & Landscaping is done the way I want it to be done. That’s the only way I sleep at night. We strive to do best job possible for our clients.

  Secondly, we stick to what we are good at. I don't know much about concrete, stucco, poured walls, Framing, asphalt, roofing or much else beyond the irrigation, landscaping and hardscaping fields. And as long as I can make a living I don't intend to branch out into anything brand new anytime soon.
